Hidden deep within the valleys of Patalkot lives a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) that has remained isolated for generations. Dependent almost entirely on minor forest produce, the community relies heavily on gulli seeds, which offer their only source of income during the brief monsoon window from June to September. Our documentary follows the daily life of one tribal family, capturing their profound connection to the forest as well as the intense challenges they endure in collecting these seeds. Through their story, the film reveals the harsh physical labour, emotional strain, and generational trauma faced by the villagers. It also exposes the widespread exploitation by middlemen who control the prices and profits, leaving the tribe trapped in a cycle of poverty despite their hard work. This intimate portrait sheds light on an unseen India—resilient, vulnerable, and fighting for dignity and survival.
